The Cause

The main reason why showers leak after construction is because of building movement. Normal day to day living causes vibrations and cracks appear in the movement joins i.e. where the walls of tiles meet and where the walls meet the floor, (The Baseline).

After a period of time the grout between the tiles becomes weak and porous due to the chemicals used in the cleaning process. Holes appear and let water leak through.

The actual tiling construction of the shower recess can also create leaks. A badly tiled shower can start to leak from new.

Leaks within the shower pipework can also be a problem. We will conduct a Free Water Pressure Test (worth $95), to determine if this is the cause. If so we will recommend a Plumber. You will NOT be charged for this service.
